ClioIQ vs Sybill: What's Actually Different?
Both promise a call summary that writes itself into the CRM. The difference is which tier you have to reach before that's actually true.
An overlay, or a system of record
Sybill’s pitch is close to ours: the call becomes a summary and a set of CRM fields without a rep typing anything. The products diverge on where the record lives. Sybill sits over the CRM you already run and writes into it. ClioIQ can do that too — or be the CRM, so there is no second system for the record to travel to.
That distinction sounds academic until something goes wrong. Every overlay depends on a sync: a schedule, a mapping, a set of permissions, and a failure mode where the summary is correct but the field never updated. When the record and the intelligence are the same system, that class of problem does not exist, because there is nothing to sync.
What happens when the write is wrong
Automated CRM fill is only as good as what it does on the occasions it gets something wrong, which is the part worth examining in any product in this category.
Ours asks first. When Clio AI is about to draft an email, change a status or update your CRM, it shows the exact fields, the values and the destination before acting. Nothing writes without a confirmation. Answers cite the call they came from with a link to the transcript — if it cannot cite it, it does not claim it.
For external CRMs, the sync runs on a schedule you set and keeps a log of exactly what moved and when, so any value in Salesforce or HubSpot is traceable back to the call that produced it. That log is the thing you will want on the day a number looks wrong and someone asks where it came from.
What you can check yourself
Our pricing page lists every capability against every tier. External CRM Sync is an add-on at Starter and included from Business. Deal risk scoring, Clio AI and the built-in CRM are all on that page against the plan that carries them, so you can see what turns on where before you talk to anyone.
Read Sybill’s pricing page for theirs. We are not going to characterise which of their features sits in which of their tiers — that is precisely the sort of detail that changes without our noticing, and a stale claim on our own site would be wrong in a direction that happens to suit us.
What the risk score is made of
Sentiment shift across consecutive calls, time since the last meaningful activity, and whether budget was confirmed rather than assumed. Read from the transcript, not from a rep’s own assessment, and recalculated after every call rather than at quarter end.
A high score is not a prediction of failure. It means something moved and a human should take a look while there is still time to do something about it.
Which calls actually get captured
Scheduled Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls. Connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 once and the Notetaker joins external meetings on its own, scoped however you want — all meetings, external only, or off.
Phone calls and WhatsApp are not captured. For a team that sells mostly by phone that is a real gap, and better known now than after two weeks of a trial.
When Sybill is the better choice
If your CRM is settled, your team is already working inside it, and you want something that reads calls and fills fields without introducing another place where the record might live, an overlay is the lighter-touch answer and Sybill is built to be exactly that.
ClioIQ is the better fit if you do not have a CRM you are committed to, or if you would rather the intelligence and the record be one system than two kept in agreement.
CRM sync, not just a summary.
