ClioIQ for Zoom — Documentation
ClioIQ is an AI notetaker for sales teams. When you connect Zoom, ClioIQ can send a notetaker bot into your Zoom meetings to record them, produce a transcript, and generate AI summaries, action items, and deal insights — automatically saved to your ClioIQ workspace.
This guide covers how to add, use, and remove the ClioIQ Zoom integration, and how your data is handled.
Prerequisites
- A ClioIQ account (sign up at https://www.clioiq.com).
- A Zoom account you can sign in to.
Add / connect Zoom
- Sign in to ClioIQ and go to Settings → AI Notetaker.
- Under Connected Zoom accounts, click Connect Zoom.
- You'll be redirected to Zoom to authorize ClioIQ. Review and Allow.
- You'll return to ClioIQ; the connection shows as Active.
Permissions ClioIQ requests (and why)
- View your user information (user:read:user) — to identify the connected Zoom account.
- View your user token (user:read:token) — to obtain an on-behalf token so the notetaker can join meetings you're authorized to attend (required by Zoom for joining meetings outside your own account).
ClioIQ requests the minimum scopes needed and does not request meeting-recording management or admin scopes.
Use the notetaker
- Dispatch the notetaker to a Zoom meeting — manually from ClioIQ, or automatically via calendar auto-join if enabled in Settings.
- The "ClioIQ Notetaker" joins as a visible participant. Zoom displays the recording (REC) indicator so everyone in the meeting is aware the session is being recorded.
- After the meeting ends, ClioIQ processes the recording and, within a few minutes, adds the transcript, summary, action items, and deal insights to the meeting in your ClioIQ workspace.
Please ensure you have the appropriate consent from meeting participants before recording, in line with your local laws and your organization's policies.
Remove / disconnect
You can disconnect at any time using either method:
- From ClioIQ: Settings → AI Notetaker → Connected Zoom accounts → Disconnect.
- From Zoom: Zoom Marketplace / Zoom app → Settings → Installed Apps → ClioIQ → Uninstall.
When you uninstall from Zoom, Zoom notifies ClioIQ via a deauthorization event. ClioIQ then deletes your Zoom connection and stored OAuth tokens and confirms compliance back to Zoom.
Data handling
- What is stored: the meeting recording is processed into a transcript and AI-generated insights (summary, action items, deal signals), stored in your ClioIQ workspace.
- Where: on ClioIQ's own cloud infrastructure. Data is not sold or shared for advertising.
- Retention & deletion: you can delete meeting data from ClioIQ at any time. Disconnecting/uninstalling removes your Zoom connection and tokens. For a full data-deletion request, email support@clioiq.com (subject "Data request").
